i am not here to ask
what is natural
more
what is natural to me
in my nature
of my nature
as close as i may
each day
be to this
i go inward
in words
like a watch wound
or a spring load
i radiate out
that recognized core
i can no longer fret
more be willing to regret
the trap of the mind
the mine of the trap
that are the thoughts
that keep me enrapt
with indecision and plaque
i choose paper
i choose plastic
i choose metal
i choose rock
i choose sand
i choose dirt
i celebrate each decision
and each resource they provide
in the service
and the humor
of my mortal hide
knowing quite well
each and all
will survive
long past the furrow
of my ever discerning brow
in this now
upon my unnaturally
conflicted countenance
